  • Approach for achieving a level of availability of 30 gm fish/day/capita in the state.

  • Reaching the annual fish production up to 1,40,000 metric ton during the 12th five year plan in the state gradually.

  • To achieve 12000 million fish seed production annually during coming years.

  • To train 10-12 thousand farmers in aquaculture and allied activities annually.

  • To provide 4-5 thousand pucca houses to fishermen every year for their good living condition.

  • To increase the productivity of reservoirs up to 150- 200 kg/ha.

  • Fast, secured and hygienic fish marketing

  • Diversification of Aquaculture.

  • Creation of new water areas and conservation of the existing ones.

  • To make the state self sufficient in Fisheries for meeting the demand of 115000 MT of fish.

  • To train  3000 fish seed growers to produce 112  crores  fish seed and supply to rural areas and generate employment at village level.

  • Training of 5000 farmers, 25000 kishan Gosthis and organization of fish festivals.

  • Culture of fast growing varieties like Pangasius  and  T.niloticus  in ponds and intensive cage culture in reservoirs.

  • To ensure maximum exploitation of all the water bodies of the state including coal pits and mines.

  • To cover 86665 active fisherman under Group Accident Insurance scheme

  • To arrange adequate supply of fish seed and feed supplement in rural areas.

  • To insure hygienic marketing of fish in urban areas and to create infrastructure for marketing.

  • To promote high density fingerling stocking in reservoirs through in-situ (charan) spawn stocking.
